Project

Glass Furnace and Bath Upgrade Extended, widened and raised the glass furnace and tin bath.

Scope

  • Removal of peripheral steelwork

  • Fabrication of steel extension pieces

  • Preparation of existing structural steel work for  on site welding of extension steel

  • On site welding of over 200 structural steelwork  extensions

  • Rebuilding and recommissioning

  • All work undertaken in conjunction with refractory contractor.

Outcome

  • Upgrade of the throughput of a plate glass production facility.
  • This project consisted of full glass line refurbishment of the furnace, bath, lehr and cutting line facilities.
